Both LYS and BE are committed to protecting the privacy of those who interact with us. What kind of information do we gather about you when you make a donationshop online at our Market and Emporium, or purchase from us at fundraising events?

To receipt one-off donations, set up regular giving donations, and/or fulfil orders for our products; LYS and BE are required to request personal information including your name, address, telephone number, email address and credit card number.

How might we use that information?

Your email address may be used to receipt your donation/s or contact you regarding any problems with a purchase you have made; your postal address may be used to send you a thank you note and to deliver your parcel/s. Unless you tell us otherwise, if you purchase any products from us or make a donation, we might also use your contact details to notify you about any of our hilarious or exciting new products, or our brilliant fundraising campaigns.

We also have the capacity to track which products you have ordered historically, and the dollar value of any donations you have made. We are typically too busy to utilize this capacity.

Do we disclose your information to anyone?

Any credit card numbers are stored against your order.??? Card numbers and all other personal information is stored on a secure server and this is NOT accessible on the internet.

The nature of the relationship between LYS (the foundation) and BE (the engine room) dictates that information you supply us with may be shared between the two entities. Both entities are Not for Profit Registered Charities, and both are founded and headed by Samuel Johnson. However, to be very clear: your personal details will not EVER be shared with any other organisation. Under no circumstances will LYS or BE sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information. We’re just not into it.

Sometimes it is necessary to provide you with access to third-party tools. Our store is hosted on the online e-commerce platform, Ecwid.comGive Easy is another platform we use to receive payments for subscriptions, regular giving campaigns, and some one-off donations. When information is transferred across networks, changes can be necessary to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.

LYS and BE do not monitor, control or input these third-party tools. Therefore, we accept no liability. BUT, we are very familiar with - and approve of - the privacy terms for the third-party tools we adopt. Wanna check if you agree? Please review:
